Mars Hall Gallery in Tenants Harbor presents “Now and Then−Charles DuBack: Past and Present” with an Opening Reception Friday, August 26th, from 6 to 8 p.m, and runs until October 10.
The show features Duback’s paintings, the majority of which have never been shown before. Taken in its totality, this show delineates his evolution in art. He has chosen not to follow the traditional and accepted way in art, but instead to strike out on a path entirely of his own and to develop his own style of total abstraction. In his own words, he states that a “painting becomes abstract because it returns to its own sign structure and questions its own essence.”
