Greenhut Galleries in Portland presents “Joseph Nicoletti & Glenn Renell: Northeast X Southwest,” with an Opening Reception Thurs., Nov. 3, 5-7 pm, with an Artists’ Talk Saturday, November 5,  1:30pm.

Good friends and painting peers, Joseph Nicoletti and Glenn Renell have spent the last year traveling back and forth from Maine to Arizona painting the landscape in both climates.

Maine native, Glenn Renell was educated at Rhode Island School of Design and Fort Wright College and received his MFA from the University of Massachusetts in 1978 after serving in the U.S. Navy with a tour in Vietnam. He taught painting, drawing, and design at Maine College of Art for twenty two years, resigning in 2001 to paint full time.  Joseph Nicoletti was born in Italy, and when his family came to the United States they settled in New York.  A Teaching position at Bowdoin College brought Nicoletti to Maine in 1972.  From 1981 to the present he has been a lecturer at Bates College.

The show runs through Nov. 26. FMI, visit www.greenhutgalleries.com
