The Center for Maine Contemporary Art in Rockport has announced its plans for the 2012 CMCA Biennial Exhibition. The show will be held at CMCA from Sept. 22 through Nov. 4, 2012, and will be co-curated by CMCA director Suzette McAvoy and independent curator Daphne Anderson Deeds.
This year, the CMCA Biennial will take the form of a tightly selected exhibition with a maximum number of fifteen artists represented. There will be five artists invited to participate and up to ten open submission slots. The selection process will not be anonymous. Submissions are open to artists with strong ties to Maine, either as permanent or seasonal residents of the state. The deadline for submission is March 1, 2012.
