The Islesford Dock Gallery on Little Cranberry Island features works by artists with established and emerging connections to the island. These include Henry Isaacs, Craig Mooney, Robert Pollien, Judy Taylor and Thom Heyer and a special exhibit of photographs of the late photojournalist David Burnett that continues through the weekend.. Burnett’s pictures of reggae artist Bob Marley are in collections all over the world.
The Islesford Dock Gallery also has an unusual collection of beaded figures created in Africa by disadvantaged women who have returned to their traditional skills. Further down the dock is Sue Hill’s Winter’s Work and Islesford Pottery. A five minute walks brings you to the 26-year-old Islesford Artists Gallery with two floors of paintings by Ashley Bryan, Dan Fernald, Peter Rudolph and others ranging from realistic to abstract. Boats leave from Northeast Harbor and Southwest Harbor town dock. For more information visit Islesforddock.com
