First Friday Art Walks abound!

Bar Harbor is having their very first Art Walk Friday, August 3, from 6-9 p.m. “Bar Harbor is full of visual, wearable, performing and literary arts, and twelve of the finest galleries and shops in town are participating,” says Linda D’Alessio of D’Alessio Gallery. On display will be both traditional and contemporary art by some of Maine’s best artists, and MDI’s new Shakespeare company will perform at a pre-event celebration.

A Pre-Art Walk event will be hosted by Steven and Susan Raab in the beautiful gardens at The Kedge, 112 West Street, Bar Harbor from 5:15-5:45. The event will introduce Bar Harbor’s new Harborside Shakespeare Company, which will perform scenes from its upcoming production of Romeo and Juliet on the balcony of this historic West Street home. Open to the public, find your place on the lawn, enjoy punch and snacks, and meet and talk with the actors before you pick up your walking map and begin your tour. Walking maps will also be available at all participating shops, galleries, and the Chamber of Commerce Visitors Center on Main Street.
