“Island Landscapes,” a collection of charcoal drawings by Rebecca Daugherty will hang at Isalos Fine Art in Stonington, August 3 through 19, with an artist’s reception August 3 from 4-7 p.m. Daugherty frequently paddles her sea kayak among the islands of the Stonington Archipelago where she sketches and paints small studies. Most of the charcoal drawings in this show are the result of an invitation to work on privately-owned Grog Island. She later created larger, more detailed drawings in her studio, which include up-close water-level views of lobster boat bows. The artist’s reception on August 3 is in conjunction with Stonington Galleries First Friday, 4-7 p.m. Isalos Fine Art is located at 26 Main St. Stonington.
