Argosy Gallery showing “Milestone Exhibition” in Bar Harbor

“Acadia Pines” by Tom Nicholas

The Argosy Gallery in Bar Harbor will host a weekend opening for National Academician Tom Nicholas marking the beginning of a two month “Milestone Exhibition,” fifty years after the artist’s first of many shows at the famed Grand Central Galleries.  The work will be open to public viewing 1-5 p.m. on Saturday Aug. 25 and 9-5 p.m. on Sunday Aug. 26. The public is invited to an evening reception from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25 at the Bar Harbor Inn. Founded in 1922 by John Singer Sargent and colleagues, the Grand Central Galleries were a landmark for representational art in New York City for three quarters of a century.
