The Tides Institute and Museum of Art in Eastport is showing its fourth exhibition of the season with a site-specific installation by Andrea Dezsö in the large ground-floor gallery interior and window. The installation titled, “Her Kingdom Under the Sea,” will be on view through September 12.
Andrea Dezsö, is the assistant professor of art at Hampshire College in Amherst, MA. She holds an MFA and a BFA in Visual Communication from the Moholy-Nagy University of Art & Design Budapest, Hungary. Dezsö has been faculty at Parsons School of Design, Maryland Institute College of Art, City College of New York, and Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in Budapest, Hungary; taught courses at Penland School of Craft, Paper & Book Intensive, The Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, The Museum of Arts & Design, and the American Museum of Visionary Art; and has lectured extensively. Dezso’s award-winning illustrations have appeared in the New York Times, Washington Post, Harper’s, Time, Newsweek, and have been commissioned by Sony Music, Candlewick, Farrar Straus & Giroux, Sterling, Harlequin, and Target.
The Tides Institute and Museum of Art (TIMA) serves as a cross border – U.S./Canada – cultural institution and museum with broader interests along the northeast Atlantic coast and particular interests on the greater international Passamaquoddy region.
