“Peter Poskas: Summer Lights” opens at Haynes Galleries

“Morning Calm, Port Clyde” by Peter Poskas

Haynes Galleries in Thomaston invites the public to an opening reception 6-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31 for “Peter Poskas: Summer Lights,” This exhibition showcases the luminous landscapes of the contemporary American realist Peter Poskas, who will attend the opening of his solo show. The sunlight in Maine is a tempestuous muse — white and thin at midday, soft and dappled in the morning mist, glowing and golden as the sun slips behind the horizon. Though the light is always the star of Poskas’ paintings, place is equally important. On every canvas, Poskas coaxes the extraordinary from the ordinary and inspires the viewer to look more closely, to see more deeply, to cherish these fleeting “Summer Lights.” For more information call 354-0605 or visit haynesgalleries.com.
