Waterfall Arts opens “The War on Peace: Rob Shetterly and Alan Magee”

“Postscript” by Alan Magee
Waterfall Arts in Belfast will open “The War on Peace: Rob Shetterly and Alan Magee” with a reception from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7.  Alan Magee’s drawings, monotypes, collages, tapestries and sculpture reflect the corporal impact of war as well as the underlying intentions of those who seek to profit from the conflicts. The work is mysterious, insightful and moving. Shetterly’s portraits of veterans, government workers, whistle-blowers, activists and students who have spoken out against war are from his series, Americans Who Tell the Truth.

While both Magee and Shetterly have shown their work throughout Maine and the US, this is the first time the Shetterly’s portrait series and Magee’s images will be shown together, offering different modes of expression on the subject of conflict.
