SOMEWHERE on Winter Street, one of Rockland’s newest art galleries, is currently showing “Lobster Library,” a collaborative effort to present the work of internationally known artist Orlando Johnson while supporting town libraries in the Penobscot Bay area. Fifty percent of the sales of Johnson’s work will be donated to libraries in Isle au Haut, Islesboro, Monhegan, North Haven, Swan’s Island, and Vinalhaven. Johnson’s work has been exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts in London, and his lobsters bought by collectors throughout the world, Orlando’s first exposure as an artist came through the annual art exhibition to benefit the North Haven Library. As such, the Lobster Library closes a circle of sorts. The gallery is located at 21 Winter Street, Suite 4. For more information, please visit somewhereonwinterstreet.com.
