Carver Hill Gallery in Rockland will be showing eight artists, with feature artist Dianne Schelble on the ground floor with a reception 5-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5 for the Columbus Day First Friday Art Walk. Work will hang though Tuesday, Oct. 30. Local artist Dianne Schelble will show her rich, abstracted landscape and still life work. Dianne paints with vibrant, opaque watercolors that she generously applies in a technique some might call “impasto watercolor.” Also being shown are Jon Kolkin’s amazing photo collages from a recent trip to Bhutan and Colombian born painter America Martin has created five new small works on paper in her modernist- influenced style. These additions extend Martin’s August show, which features large original oil paintings. The Upstairs Gallery at Carver Hill will feature work by Laurie Goddard, Megan Hinton, David Estey, Adriance DeGroff, and Diane Bowie Zaitlin.
