Winslow Homer, Fox Hunt, 1893

Due to the overwhelming popularity of the blockbuster exhibition “Weatherbeaten: Winslow Homer and Maine,” the Portland Museum of Art will extend its fall and winter hours. The museum will be open until 9 p.m. on Sat., November 24 and Sun., November 25 of the Thanksgiving weekend. From Dec. 13 through Dec. 29, the PMA will extend hours until 8 p.m. on Thursday and Saturday nights. Advance reservations for the exhibition are recommended. There is a $5 special exhibition surcharge added to each adult admission (total cost $17); admission is free for members. Weatherbeaten: Winslow Homer and Maine is a once-in-a-lifetime exhibition featuring major oils, watercolors, and etchings created during Homer’s tenure in the Studio (1883–1910).
