KVAA showing painting group

“Ski Tracks” by Penny Markley

The Kennebec Valley Art Association also invites the public to visit the lobby gallery at 45 Memorial Circle in Augusta to enjoy the work of six local artists who often paint together throughout the year.  The artists include Penny Markley of Winthrop, Elizabeth Budd of Litchfield, Kay Morris of West Gardiner, Anita Morrissey of Sidney, Judith Schuppien of Pittston, and Pamela Hetherly of Mount Vernon. The group paints together on Tuesday mornings at the Harlow Gallery in Hallowell and sometimes out and about town, and refer to themselves as the Tuesday Group. On view from February 11 through April 5, the installation is open 9am-9pm daily, can be viewed from outside the building, and is lit at night. Penny Markley is a painter in oils and acrylics, and is captivated by the light and landscapes of Maine, both inland and coastal. Her work can be seen at Art Space Gallery in Rockland and at markleystudios.com.
