Blue Hill Bay Gallery opens season with Cape Ann show

“Maine Harbor” by Vladimir Pavlosky

The Blue Hill Bay Gallery opens the season with an exhibit of 20
well known Cape Ann artists and over 100 carefully selected seascapes and landscapes. Cape Ann, the oldest art colony in the US, has inspired art and artists with a startling diversity of styles.  The roster of painters who have worked on Cape Ann is a virtual who’s who of American art from the mid-nineteenth century to the present day. Featured in the show are plein air painters, Emile Gruppe, Aldro Hibbard, William Lester Stevens, Tom Nicholas, Bernard Corey, Don Mosher, Ken Knowles, Caleb Stone, Dennis Poirier, Vladimir Pavlosky and Stefan Pastuhov. These artists are known not only for their portrayal of Gloucester’s harbor and other Cape Ann scenes, but also for rural Vermont scenes and Maine’s harbors, islands and coastline. The show runs through June 30t. For more information visit  bluehillbaygallery.com.
