“Richard Norton, Artist and Advocate” at Waterfall Arts Belfast

Richard Norton

A panel discussion “Richard Norton, Artist and Advocate” will take place on Thursday, July 18, beginning at 7p.m. at Waterfall Arts Belfast. The panel, an event related to the current gallery show of Norton’s photography, is moderated by Waterfall Arts’ Alan Crichton and features art writer Edgar Allan Beem, painters Dennis Pinette, Lesia Sochor, Janice Kasper and Mat O’Donnell. The group will share stories with the audience about Richard, his work and the budding Belfast art scene of the day – the artists, galleries and local interactions. Norton was a photojournalist as well as an artist in his own right. He worked for both the Republican Journal and the Waldo Independent from 1978 to1988 and documented the City’s traditional economy based on poultry, fishing, farming and lumber industries.
