Jonathan Frost Gallery presents Phoebe Bly exhibit

“Corn Cob” by Phoebe Bly

The Jonathan Frost Gallery in Rockland presents an exhibit of new work by Tenants Harbor artist Phoebe Bly with a gala Artist’s Reception 5 – 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, featuring live jazz by Steve Lindsay and Friends.  The exhibit will run through October 2. Phoebe Bly has shown annually in the Midcoast area for the past eight years, acquiring a devoted and enthusiastic following, and her exhibits are eagerly anticipated.  The 2013 show includes several of her signature nocturnal scenes, some larger than in past years, as well as scenes from the blizzards of the past winter.  “It was a beautiful winter, a real winter,” Bly says.  The show presents twenty –seven oils on canvas, encompassing Bly’s favorite themes of back roads, Vermont farms, pickups and other working vehicles, intense summer pastures, and deep woods, plus a portrait of her studio woodstove going full blast.  For more information visit jonathanfrostgallery.com.
