Dowling Walsh Gallery shows “Cig Harvey: Gardening at Night” and “Alexandra Tyng: The Unseen Aspect.”

“The Ferns, Devin” by Cig Harvey

Dowling Walsh Gallery in Rockland has two new shows in September, “Cig Harvey: Gardening at Night” and “Alexandra Tyng: The Unseen Aspect.” Both shows run through Sept. 30. Cig Harvey’s exhibition of photographs, animations, embroidery and neon signs is about light and dark, the cyclical notations of time passing, and the magic of moonlight. Alexandra Tyng’s figurative paintings explore the legacy of her family with symbolism and fluid time, appearing at once representational and mythological. “In my paintings, I have started to delve deeper into my imagination and give myself more freedom to explore symbolic language.” For more information visit dowlingwalsh.com
