Gleason Fine Art opens “Winter Colors”

“Winter Coats” by Andrea Peters

Gleason Fine Art in Boothbay Harbor opens “Winter Colors” Thursday, Feb. 6. “Winter Colors” features paintings by Mitch Billis, Andrea Peters, Phil Barter, Tom Curry, Peter Sculthorpe, and Jessica Stammen in a show that runs through March 29. To those who have never experienced Maine’s longest season, “winter” is synonymous with the absence of color. However, for the artists who live here, winter is permeated with color. Without the omnipresence of green, subtler, more complex shades make themselves known. In “Cold and Clear,” Andrea Peters surrounds fluffy pillows of snow with great splashes of pink, yellow, and aqua. All of these winter paintings are on view at Gleason Fine Art in Boothbay Harbor through the end of March. For further information, call the gallery at 207-633-6849 or visit gleasonfineart.com
