CMCA presenting series of “Tuesday Talks”

CMCA
“Jill’s Garden II” by Jon Imber,

The Center for Maine Contemporary Art in Rockport is presenting a series of “Tuesday Talks” in its gallerie. in Rockport, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The next talk will be on July 1. If you missed the first Tuesday Talk on June 17, you will have a second chance on July 1, to hear Suzette McAvoy discuss the work of Jon Imber. The paintings in the exhibition Jon Imber: Force of Nature address the Maine landscape over a ten-year period before Imber’s untimely death from ALS last April. Pulsing with energy and composed of an array of deft, calligraphic brushstrokes, Imber’s paintings evoke the sensory experience of a specific time and place. Imber has said that he liked “the challenge of looking at something familiar and reinterpreting it, coming up with something new.” Admission to the talks is free. The exhibitions are on view at CMCA through July 6. For more information, visit cmcanow.org
