Maine Farmland Trust Gallery presents an opening reception for Belfast fine art photographer Lynn Karlin 5:30-8pm Friday June 20, during Maine Fare. Lynn returns to Maine Farmland Trust Gallery for her second solo show  here Attention to Detail. In 2009, MFT Gallery was in fact the first venue to showcase Lynn Karlin’s photography as fine art. Anna Abaldo, the gallery’s curator, remembers Karlin’s slightly apologetic comments when dropping off two small framed prints for the fall Harvest show. “Until then, my photography had only been published in books and magazines,” says Karlin. “I had never thought of framing my work and putting it on a wall.” As she continued to expand this body of work, it has since traveled to Napa Valley in California, the James Beard House Gallery in New York, and other galleries around the country; it was reviewed in the New York Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, London’s Sunday Telegraph and several Swiss magazines as well. The exhibit “Attention to Detail” includes select works by three other Maine photographers Terry Hire, Michael Reid and Mary Woodman will all be making their first appearance at MFT Gallery.
