Pemaquid Art Gallery hosting Phyllis Harper Loney and Marnie Sinclair

Silk collage by Phyllis Harper Loney

The Pemaquid Art Gallery located in Lighthouse Park is hosting two guest artists this season, Phyllis Harper Loney and Marnie Sinclair. Phyllis Harper Loney Loney holds a BFA from Moore College of Art and Design with a major in textile design. Painting with fiber-reactive dyes on natural fibers has been her focus for years. Recently her creativity has taken a new direction. It is this fresh work of collage on canvas that she is exhibiting at the Gallery.  Using her painted textiles the artist combines patterns and forms and works with the power of color. When asked where she finds inspiration Phyllis replies, “it’s a contest between the garden, the sea and the forest.”

This season a selection of two dimensional work by Marnie Sinclair is included at the Pemaquid venue. Sinclair is a multi dimensional artist who works in a seemingly limitless number of media. Her creative spirit is inspired by the variety found in nature which motivates her to try a wide variety of artistic expressions. Predominately a sculptor, she is currently creating kinetic sculpture in her Damariscotta studio.Pemaquid Art Gallery is open every day through Columbus Day, its website is
