The UMaine Department of Art presents “To Make Eyes Open” in the Lord Hall Gallery. “To Make Eyes Open” provides an in-depth look at the importance of Josef Albers and the work of two of his students, Neil Welliver and Jane Davis Dogget. At the June 16 opening reception, Jane Davis Dogget, a summer resident of Corea, discussed her work with curator Osvaldo Monzon. Dogget’s airport symbol and sign graphic are seen by millions daily. The exhibition includes work by Albers, who taught at the Bauhaus and Yale, works by Welliver, and participation by artist Jane Lincoln. The show runs through July 18.
