Be a part of the LIVE audience for the BCC Inspire-a-thon

Come be part of the live audience for the Belfast Creative Coalition’s first INSPIRE-A-THON, an old-fashioned telethon that will be broadcast live over BCTV2 and streamed live over the internet from Troy Howard Middle School stage on Sunday, September 28 from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Co-hosts Chris Quimby and John Burstein will be coordinating all the action of the live performances, while the 2014 Cultivate Preview Party will be happening in the school’s gymnasium and an animal exhibit with horse rides on the grounds.

Many of you remember what fun it was to see kids, grandkids, colleagues and neighbors share their talent live from a local TV station’s studios to support a worthy cause. Before the big celebrities, before the national sponsorships, it was all about showcasing the skills, inventiveness and abilities within one’s own community. This time, live operators will be taking pledges through the bank of cell phones.

As a live audience member enjoy comedians, musicians, poets, martial arts, fashion yoga, mimes, fencing, dancers, and visual artists. Brief video segments will be interspersed between the live, on-stage performances. Visit the Art Table, pet a llama and enjoy samples of fine art, handmade products and homegrown food at the Cultivate Preview Party. Prizes will be given out through out the day – so stick around!

To that end, the INSPIRE-A-THON will be an all-encompassing event: a showcase for local talent, a preview of the 2014 Cultivate: Belfast Area Farm and Arts Trail in October, and to serve as a membership fundraising drive for the Coalition. For more information go to or email
