Waldoboro artist Anne Heywood recently announced that she will be awarded the International Association of Pastel Societies (IAPS) Eminent Pastelist designation at their Eleventh Biennial Convention in Albuquerque, New Mexico this June. Founded in 1994, IAPS represents pastel societies worldwide united in the common cause of demonstrating the validity and quality of pastel fine art. Heywood is an American realist known for her modern and traditional landscapes, still lifes, and pet portraiture. She is author/illustrator of the book Pastels Made Easy, holds signature membership with the Pastel Society of America, and is listed in Who’s Who in American Women. Heywood paints in her studios in Waldoboro, Maine and East Bridgewater, Massachusetts and offers workshops and demonstrations. She is represented in Maine by the Heywood Gallery, Waldoboro and Gifts at 136, Damariscotta.
