Summer Classes + Workshops for Adults at Waterfall Arts

Painting Class x

June offerings for adults at Waterfall Arts include Writing in Nature led by Linda Buckmaster which meets for three weeks from 6 to 9 pm starting Monday, June 8. This all-levels course directs the writer’s focus to responding to the natural world. Beginning Tuesday, June 9 from 5:30 to 8:30 pm, ceramic artists Cory Upton-Cosulich and Adam Bogosian will lead an eight week, all levels course in making and glazing functional pottery.

Printmaker Tara Law will teach a monoprint workshop on Saturday, June 13 from 10 am to 3 pm. Kris Engman leads Plein Air Painting a la Carte for four days, June 15, 17, 18 and 19 from 10 to 4 each day. Students may choose to attend one or more days. The class will concentrate on understanding color theory and making it work outdoors, painting in four different locations in and around Belfast.

While making photographs in a darkroom has fallen out of fashion, Waterfall Arts has built a traditional black and white darkroom. Mike Fletcher will introduce the magic of film photography, developing and printing in a six week class beginning Monday, June 15 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.

Another free printmaking demo and open studio is scheduled for Thursday, June 18 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Experienced print makers demonstrate different printing techniques and there is plenty of time to make your own prints afterwards. On Saturday, June 27th, Willy Reddick will teach White-Line Block printing techniques in a one day workshop from 10 am to 3 pm.

There are many more classes and workshops for adults and young people scheduled for July and August.
