Midcoast Artist Anne Heywood was awarded the International Association of Pastel Societies (IAPS) Eminent Pastelist designation at the 11th Biennial Convention in Albuquerque, New Mexico on June 6. Eminent Pastelist status is the highest honor that IAPS confers upon its members; Heywood joins just four other Eminent Pastelist artists worldwide.

Her work is appreciated for its moods and creativity, reflecting her New England roots and 12 years living in Naples, Italy. Author/illustrator of the book “Pastels Made Easy,” Heywood’s paintings and writings have been featured in publications such as Australian Artist Magazine, and, most recently, the June 2015 issue of the Pastel Journal.
