The PJones Contemporary Art Gallery will host an opening reception of a solo show by contemporary artist/owner Paula Jones on Saturday, July 25 from 3 to 7 p.m. at her new gallery and studio at 24 Ocean Avenue, Union Square, Kennebunkport. Paula worked as a contemporary artist for more than 20 years exhibiting a range of works in both expressionist and abstract styles. She is not bound to a particular medium or style, but rather selects the medium and style that will best convey what she hopes to achieve with each piece.
“My goal is to convey to the viewer the emotion that is behind each piece, to awaken the mind, to get the viewer to think in a way that is not bound by traditional thoughts and to discover something exciting that would otherwise not have been seen,” said Jones.
Her art is a feast to the eye and a challenge to the mind. Jones exhibited for several years at the Maine Art Gallery in Wiscasset as well as galleries in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. While she currently resides with her husband and her youngest daughter in southern New Hampshire, she can frequently be found painting in her studio in Kennebunkport.
