ArtLab for All Ages on Aug. 8

Example of paper marbling

What floats? You can float boats or balloons. Jellyfish float, and fishing flies bob on the surface. ArtLab is going to float paint.

The Center for Maine Contemporary Art will present an ArtLab for All Ages workshop on Saturday, August 8, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Bicknell Building, 11 Lime Street, Rockland. Please join us as we use marbleizing techniques to float large colorful shapes of paint on the surface of water and capture them on paper. Are they pools, polka dots, or large amoeba shapes? You decide as you experiment with floating paint! Visit FLOAT in CMCA’s Bicknell Building and join the ArtLab staff in the courtyard outside to add your ideas to What Floats?
