Fall art classes for young artists age 2 to 18 are starting up at Waterfall Arts. New offerings are Art Making for Ages 2 to 6, Afterschool Art for Ages 8 to 11 and Emote Your Emoji through the Art of Printmaking. Returning favorites are Bridge: Young Artists Connecting, Wonders of Clay and Paint Your Own Pottery
Sarah Hall will lead Art Making for Ages 2 to 6 on Friday mornings from 9:30 to 11 starting September 18 through November 6. Young artist will make two and three dimension art using clay, paint, collage, construction and found objects. Parents are welcome to attend; children under 3 must be accompanied by an adult partner.
Bridget Matros offers Bridge Jr.: Afterschool Art for Ages 8 to 11 on Tuesdays from 3:30 to 5:30 pm through October 20. She’ll lead the group in exploring different materials, art projects and work styles, helping students find their own unique voice. Matros also leads Bridge: Young Artists Connecting, a free afterschool art club for 6th graders on Wednesdays from 2:30 to 5 pm. The popular program is currently full; new students will be accepted in December. Matros has been an educator for fifteen years, teaching at every level and setting from preschool circle-time, computer labs for the elderly, and seminars for teachers.
Gwen Tatro will teach printmaking techniques that students can use to develop their own personal emoji based on an expression, vision, statement or self-portrait and create a series of images. The class is designed for ages 13 to 18 and will be held on Wednesdays from 4 to 7 beginning September 30 through November 4.
Linda Stec offers Wonders of Clay on Wednesdays, September 30 through November 18 from 3:30 to 5:30 pm, teaching kids age 6 and up all about clay. She’ll also lead Paint Your Own Pottery, a family workshop on Saturday, Dec. 12 from 10 am to 1 pm.
