River Arts in Damariscotta is inviting artists to submit work of the artist’s choice for “Small Works and Fine Crafts.” The emphasis of the show is on small works including fine crafts – suitable for giving. Outside dimensions of wall art not to exceed 20″. Deadline for entry Nov. 7th at 4 p.m.. Work can be delivered anytime up to the deadline.
The jurors for this show will be Martha Kalina and Bruce Johnston from Gifts 136, downtown Damariscotta. “The team at Gifts at 136 works hard to curate a store of accessible art and fine craft from established and emerging Maine artists. Martha Kalina and Rick Skoglund, owners, along with Bruce Johnston, manager, are proud of the awards received by the gallery of Down East Magazine’s Best Gallery (2013), Down East Magazine’s Best Gift Store (2014) and Yankee Magazine’s Best Gift Store Gallery (2015).”
The opening reception will be Nov. 13 and the show will hang through January 6. Entry forms are available online www.riverartsme.org or at the gallery. Artists can enter up to 3 works. $15 total/members $20/total non-members. All work must be for sale.
The mission of River Arts is to nurture and encourage participation in the arts throughout the region of Midcoast Maine by providing exhibition, studio and performance spaces, classes and workshops, for people of all ages and abilities and support a wide range of activities in artistic disciplines by partnering with other arts and performance organizations to produce program.
