Artist to Host Open House for Friends in Her Festive Home

Artist Audrey Bechler is hosting an Open House for friends on Friday and Saturday December 18 and 19 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at her home in Waldoboro.

An invitation from Audrey reads: “I am an artist living on Back Cove Road in Waldoboro for 31 years. Christmas is my favorite time of year. I decorate the house and put candles in the windows, put up the tree, one that I have grown in my yard, listen to music and keep the wood stove burning, warm and cozy inside.

“Most important is to be with friends and family, sharing the good food and atmosphere of Christmas. As I am planning to move to Eugene, Oregon, to be closer to my son, this most likely will be my last Christmas in Maine. Hopefully there will be snow.

“My little cape home is decorated with fir branches and Christmas memorabilia. All my walls are covered with paintings; mine and other artists I have collected. My door will be open to friends who would like to share the Christmas spirit with me on Friday and Saturday, December 18 and 19, from 11 a.m to 4 p.m. Space is limited, so it may be necessary to park on the road and walk up the long driveway (with a flashlight if it’s after dark).”

Audrey’s house is two miles down Back Cove Road, after the right turn just across from Flippers Market. The painting in this post shows how the house looked in 1984, before the barn was moved. There is a sign at her driveway on the left for ‘Audrey’s Home Gallery.’” For more information, please call (207) 832-6806 or email
